Vindere af HDTVTests 2018 TV Shootout fundet
Fire TV fra LG, Panasonic, Samsung og Sony kæmpede om priserne i HDTVTests 2018 TV Shootout, hvor deltagerne blev bedt om at vurdere skærmene. OLED vandt fire priser, mens Samsung LCD vandt en femte.HDTVTest 2018 TV Shootout
Dette er første sammenligningstest i 2018 idet den årlige Shootout i USA er blevet udskudt af hensyn til kommende modeller. Britiske HDTVTest afholdt deres 2018 TV Shootout i går søndag den 15. juli i London.
De fire tv-skærme var blevet kalibreret af HDTVTests Vincent Teoh i samarbejde med Portrait Displays Tyler Pruitt og Marcel Gonska samt HDTV.pl’s Maciej Koper. De kørte alle seneste firmware-version. To Sony OLED-studiemonitorer (BVM-X300) blev brugt som referenceskærme. Skærmene kunne nemt identificeres på logo og design. Det var ikke intentionen, at der skulle afholdes blindtest.
- “The TVs were arranged in alphabetical order according to UK model number, so it's KD-65AF8, OLED65C8, QE65QFN, then TX-65FZ802B from left to right,” sagde Vincent Teoh fra HDTVTest til Flatpanels. “Two Sony BVM-X300 broadcast monitors were present for reference purposes: one between the Sony AF8 and the LG C8; the other between the Samsung Q9FN and Panasonic FZ802, so each display can be assessed directly beside a reference monitor.”

Der var 26 deltagere ved arrangement og hver af dem blev bedt om at rangere skærmene fra bedst til dårligst på otte parametre (se nedenfor). Samme metode blev anvendt ved sidste års arrangement, hvor OLED-tv vandt i alle kategorier.HDTVTest 2018 TV Shootout Award-vindere

Efter sidste års arrangement er der næppe de store overraskelser her. Alle tre OLED-tv er baseret på samme OLED-panel fra LG.Display, men videoprocessoren indeni varierer imellem de tre skærme. Som tabellen afslører, var det meget tæt.
- "Just like last year, the attendees of the 2018 TV shootout voted the Panasonic FZ802 as the best home theatre TV (for critical viewing in a darkened room) and the best TV overall, which is a testament to the Japanese brand's commitment to colour accuracy and video fidelity. 2018 has seen Panasonic introduced dynamic LUT for more HDR impact, as well as lower input lag, allowing the company to successfully defend its crown against stiff competition” fortalte Vincent Teoh. “The audience also continues to prefer OLED in the majority of categories scored, owing to the display technology's self-emissive characteristics which deliver true blacks, vibrant colours and wide viewing angles.”
Samsung Q9FN var det eneste LCD-tv i testen. Den har bagbelyst LED med zone-styring. Det var også den eneste skærm i testen, som understøtter adaptiv billedfrekvens – såkaldt FreeSync eller VRR. Q9FN vandt i gaming-kategorien.
Vincent Teoh giver herudover sit bud på, hvorfor de specifikke TV vandt i de respektive kategorier:
Best Home Theatre TV: Panasonic FZ802 has the most accurate colours, providing the closest match to the Sony BVM-X300 reference monitor.
Best Living Room TV: The Sony AF8 handles less-than-pristine off-air broadcasts in the cleanest manner, as well as boasting the best motion for watching sports.
Best Gaming TV: The Samsung Q9FN has the lowest input lag, supports Auto Game Mode switch and VRR (variable refresh rate), and poses no burn-in risk.
Best HDR TV: LG C8's looks generally brighter than other OLEDs thus giving more HDMI impact. Samsung suffered in dark scenes where local dimming could be too aggressive causing loss of shadow detail.
Ligesom sidste år, lægger resultaterne fra HDTVTests 2018 Shootout sig tæt op ad Flatpanels anmeldelser. OLED-tv yder generelt bedre end LCD-topmodellerne på de fleste parametre – også HDR.
